Weston Library to Host Herbalist
Come join herbalist Jamie Maloof for a three-class series on boosting your immune system, using herbs to prevent and aid in winter illness. Prepare your medicine cabinets for the upcoming cold season. The first class will discuss various herbs for boosting immunity, digestion and detox. Class two will cover herbal antibiotics and antivirals and respiratory herbs. In the third class, members of the group will prepare their own medicines to take home, including tinctures, salves, oils, infusions/decoctions and infused honey. Participants will need to bring their own jars, alcohol and oil. Hand-outs and sampling will be included in each class. Bring a notebook, a mug for tea and a folder. Paranormal Phenomena the Topic at the Dorset Library
The Dorset Library welcomes back Becky Shott, clairvoyant and paranormal investigator, at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 8. The presentation will begin with a brief overview of paranormal anomalies, before revealing the findings of the ghost hunt conducted at the Library in September. Photos, recordings and experiences will be shared on ghosts at the Dorset Library. Shot has been investigating paranormal phenomena nearly her entire life using her abilities to offer consolation to those in need and instructing the public on ghosts and hauntings. She has made several television appearances and was featured on NBC’s Today Show to discuss her opinion of famously haunted locations, as well as assisting production companies (ABC Family, Travel, A&E, SyFy and Animal Planet) in explaining phenomena.
