Sip, Seed & Shop
Move into spring with a plethora of activities and shopping opportunities all under one roof! Equinox Valley Nursery on Route 7A in Manchester is hosting ‘Sip, Seed & Shop’ on Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you want to get your hands into some gardening dirt, enjoy a planting project while sipping sparkling ‘springmosas.’ If you prefer to select one or several handmade items to give or to keep, unique and exclusive finds await you. Artisans on hand for the day include the Icy Palmer Candle Company, Mill Brook Naturals, Abbeads and Courtney Callo’s Shortbread, Nana Kay Bakery, Lyon Pond Studio, HerrBaggs and MG’s Decorative Bird Houses. Collectors’ Hobby Show
The TriTown Collectors Club will hold a family Hobby Show on Sunday, March 25, at the Hampton Inn in Bennington, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dealers and collectors from the tri-state area meet monthly for a day-long series of family activities. Besides the usual coins, currency, stamps, sports cards and comic books there will be a special quiz for collectors at the coin club table giving away many interesting door prizes including a nice group of collectible quarters. Three new coin collectors will be present as well as a dealer with with fractional civil war currency and other paper money and a collector of vintage sports cards. There is no admission charge and anyone wishing to set up a card table to sell their material may do so by calling Joe Fuller at 802-297-1274.
Pasta & Sauce Making Demo
Chef Scott Sanfilippo, owner of Bennington’s DiBuono Ravioli Company, will demonstrate building a sauce and making fresh pasta at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at the LeCreuset Outlet Store in the Marble Mill, 135 Depot Street, Manchester Center. Sanfilippo graduated from New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier and has worked in Vermont and beyond as a chef. He has also taught at New England Culinary Institute and the Buxton School in Williamstown, Mass. He has offered his fresh pasta products and sauces for sale at area farmers markets for many years, and last year opened his storefront on Main Street in Bennington. Thrifty Attic Bag Sale
The Thrifty Attic on Main Street in Londonderry will hold a bag sale on Wednesday, March 21, and Saturday, March 24. One buck buys you whatever you can fit into the grocery bag that we supply. The store will be closed entirely (no donations accepted) from March 25 to 30 during the installation of new capeting, and reopen with new merchandise on Saturday, March 31. Regular store hours are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 until 12 noon. Thrifty Attic is a nonprofit organization; all profits go right back into the local community.
Rutland Song Circle
A song circle and jam session will be held Wednesday, March 21, at the Godnick Adult Center in Rutland from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. The song circle welcomes singers, players of acoustic instruments, and listeners.
