A Canoe Trip on Goose Pond

Explore the coves and marshes of one of the Berkshires’ most beautiful lakes as you paddle a canoe across Lower Goose Pond to pristine Upper Goose Pond, a mountain lake anchored by steep ridgelines that support a remote section of the 2,100-mile Appalachian Trail. We’ll search for ravens, hawks, herons and songbirds. Eat a snack onshore, then walk one mile on the AT before paddling back.

Sponsored by Berkshire Sanctuaries, this canoe trip will take place on Sunday, June 29, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Directions to the meeting place in Lee will be provided upon registration. Due to possible windy conditions, previous canoe experience is required. Bring food, drink, insect repellent and sunscreen.
