Susan Armstrong of Green Mountain RSVP says they have received some urgent calls from local non-profits suffering from the crunch of tight budgets and in need of volunteer help:

• CAT-TV is looking for volunteers to produce shows.

• Meals on Wheels needs drivers in Bennington, Arlington and Manchester.

• Home Visitors for elders who live alone and would like to be read to or chat with.

• WBTN, Bennington’s non-profit radio station, office help.

• Head Start Teachers are looking for assistance with young children and help with babies.

• Bennington Museum needs greeters and help in their gift shop.

• Bennington Area Habitat for Humanity, builders, board members, collaborators, file organizers, publicity writers and fund raisers.

• Mentors are needed for local elementary schools.

• Drivers are needed by the Association for the Blind and Road for Recovery.
