‘A Christmas Carol,’ at 6 Locations
‘A Christmas Carol’ is being presented in intimate Reader’s Theatre Style, in performances throughout the area. Five actors in full Victorian dress play multiple roles in Charles Dickens’ beloved classic. Dickens’ compelling story and beautiful language come to life, with director Gary Meitrott’s production, shining a bright light on the meaning of Christmas. Meitrott, a lover of classic literature and founder of Shakespeare on Main Street, says, “’A Christmas Carol’ rings more true than ever in its lesson to give and to love with every moment we have.”
The production features regional actors Vanessa Beattie, Emily Bleakie, Levi Nelson, Robin Chestnut-Tangerman, and Zachary Zupan. Performances are: Saturday, November 30, at 6 p.m., Poultney High School, Poultney; Friday, December 6 at 7 p.m., Maple Street School, Manchester; Saturday, December 7 at 6 p.m., Town Hall, Wallingford; Friday, December 13 at 7 p.m., Inn at Willow Pond, Manchester; and Saturday, December 14 at 7 p.m., Stratton Mountain School, World Cup Circle, Stratton Mountain.
