A Day of Fun is Planned for Dorset
The Dorset Village Library and the Dorset Historical Society (DHS), are hosting a day of fun activities in Dorset on Saturday, July 13. Start the day with a hike to the town’s historic Folsom Quarry. Meet at the DHS at Route 30 and Kent Hill Road at 9 a.m. to carpool to the trail head. DHS will hold its annual Ice Cream Social on the lawn of the Bley House Museum from 1 to 3 p.m., while across the road, all dogs and their humans are welcome to attend the Dog Days of July cookout hosted by the Dorset Village Library Board, where you can try your hand at a game of badminton or giant checkers! Second Chance Animal Shelter will be there to provide information on their adoption process and offer dog merchandise for sale. Milla the Library Pug will celebrate her fifth Gotcha Day with a dog-friendly birthday cake. Dorset’s own Kat Lilith from the Healing Heart will be on hand to heal you with laughter, and weather permitting, the Library’s current Artist of the Month, Nell McGuire will demonstrate her painting techniques, weather permitting.
