The United Church of Dorset and East Rupert on Church Street in Dorset, Vt. will be holding the annual Alternative Gift Fair on Saturday, November 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday, December 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. See and purchase gifts from around the world, provided by SERRV International, a member of the Fair Trade Federation. The baskets, scarves, housewares, ornaments, small gifts, jewelry and food (particularly Fair Trade chocolate!) are unique and fun. Purchases support needed income to families in 35 countries, through fair pricing and no middle man. We have a larger inventory this year; a share of our profits will go to Bennington Coalition for the Homeless.

The Women’s Fellowship will be selling their crafts, for their mission work. You will have a chance to talk with enthusiastic representatives of the Asian Rural Institute, Habitat for Humanity and the Heifer Project. Donations can be given in someone else’s name as a gift as you learn about the organization. Come and have a free cup of Fair Trade coffee and a snack and browse all our wares. You can also look over the SERRV catalog and place an order if you wish. We look forward to seeing you!
