Ambassador to Discuss 2030 Agenda for Development and Resilient Communities

Dorset Village Library, the Dorset Historical Society, the Yale Alum Nonprofit Association of Vermont and Grace Initiative will be joining forces to co-host Ambassador Riyad Mansour, chair of the Group of 77 and China for 2019 at the United Nations in New York City,
from 4 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 8. Community members are encouraged to attend. The Library is located at the corner of Route 30 and Church Street in Dorset Village. Mansour will discuss the 2030 Agenda for Development and Building Resilient Communities that was crafted by the international community to ensure the well-being of humanity, economic prosperity and environmental protection in the face of the global changes that  will usher in a new stage of evolutionary history. Achieving the Agenda’s goals for creating resilient communities will require integrated and complimentary planning to address challenges to the world’s economic, social and environmental sustainability. Implementation will be driven by a new Global Partnership characterized by shared responsibility, mutual accountability and engagement by all.
