AMHS Names Speaking Winners
Eight students competed in the 14th annual Arlington Memorial High School Speaking Contest, reciting from varied works of literature or from their own original work. Sophomore Gracie Smith received first place. Second place went to sophomore Katheryn Berger. Senior Rowie Budde took third place and fourth place went to senior Janessa Hoyt. Honorable Mentions were given to Leia Ashikawa, Sofie Pedemonti, Jena Staab and Kaleigh Ward. English teacher Gayna Cross, oversaw the performances with mistress of ceremonies Riley Lane and prompter Jamie Keel. Judges were Ramsey Gould, Seth Pitts and Vicki Webberley.
