An Evening with NPR’s Ira Glass
Ira Glass, the host of NPR’s ‘This American Life,’ will come to the Paramount Theatre on Saturday, May 17, at 8 p.m., for one night only as he recreates the sound of the show right in front of the audience by mixing live onstage stories with pre-taped quotes and music, while also featuring a ‘Best Of’ segment from some of the series’ funniest moments. His quirky, unassuming and impossible-not-to-like persona translates to the stage as well as through the radio waves. Glass, a radio pioneer, host and creator of ‘This American Life,’ has led the program to receive several Peabody and DuPont-Columbia awards over the years. ‘This American Life’ premiered on Chicago’s public radio station WBEZ in 1995 and is now heard on more than 500 public radio stations each week by over 1.7 million listeners.
