An Evening with Sam Drazin

For the past two months, the John G. McCullough Free Library in North Bennington, Vt. has been sponsoring a series of reading events around ‘Wonder,’ by R. J. Palacio, which tells about Auggie, a ten-year-old born with a facial deformity, in his first year in public school. Previously home-schooled, he must now deal with being ‘different,’ at an age when fitting in is so important. On Friday, May 9, at 7:30 p.m., you are invited to spend an evening with Sam Drazin, a Vermont teacher who has first-hand knowledge of Auggie’s experiences, which he will share with us at the Village School of North Bennington. Drazin is the Director of Changing Perspectives, which designs programs to engage students in open dialogue, real world experiences and personal reflection to build stronger inclusive communities. In addition, a skit about bullying will be performed by students from the Hiland Hall School.
