Arts Organizations Offer Free, Discounted Student Admissions

As part of the Bennington Arts Summit, the committee assigned to finding ways to strengthen the relationship between the schools and the arts community has compiled a list of arts organizations that give student discounts. Many organizations offer free admission.

Bennington Museum has no charge for students under 18; local college students (SVC, Bennington College, CCV) are free with college ID. At the Bennington Center for the Arts, students 12 and under are free; students over 12 are $8 and families are $20.  Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester, Vt. offers free admission for all to Yester House. Williams College Museum, Williamstown, Mass., is free for all; performances by Sage City Symphony at Bennington College are free for all attendees. Bennington County Choral Society membership is free for student singers 15 and up. Bennington Contra Dance offers free admission for 6 and under; 7 to 12 are $5; ages 13 and up are $10. Vermont Arts Exchange in North Bennington, Vt. has a student price of $10 for concerts; scholarships are available for students attending camps and classes. Oldcastle Theater charges $10 for students; discounts are offered for school groups. UU Meetinghouse Cafe in Bennington, Vt. charges $10 for students. Hubbard Hall in Cambridge, N.Y., charges students $15; dress rehearsals are pay as you will. MASS MoCa in North Adams, Mass., is $10 for students with ID, kids 6 to 16 is $5, and kids under 5 are free. The Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, Mass., has free and discounted admission for students and children.
