BBA Names Mears as Coach

Burr and Burton Academy has named Suzanne Mears as Head Coach of the girls soccer program. Mears is succeeding legendary coach Dan DeForest, who is retiring after a successful career of 27 years.

Mears played soccer at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School in Massachusetts, a Division 1 Athletic program. She was a four-year varsity starter, a three-time DCL All-Star and First Team All Eastern Conference. In college she played as a four-year starter on the women’s soccer team in the Northeast-10 Division II Conference for Saint Michaels College, where she was All-Conference and holds the school record for most goals in a half (four). She majored in psychology, and is currently is a guidance counselor at Twin Valley Middle School.

“Today marks a new beginning for the BBA girls soccer team, and I am happy that Suzanne will be leading us,” said BBA Headmaster Mark Tashjian. “She has a tremendous legacy on which to build, and I look forward to what lies ahead for BBA girl’s soccer.”
