BBA Singers Perform in NYC
Fourteen members of Burr and Burton Academy’s Vocal Music Ensemble will be performing Christopher Tin’s ‘Calling All Dawns’ at Lincoln Center on Sunday, April 3. They will be joined by choirs from around the world, a professional orchestra, guest soloists and the composer for a five-day
residency in New York City, from Thursday, March 31 through Monday, April 4, to prepare for this monumental performance, presented by Distinguished Concerts International New York and conducted by their artistic director Jonathan Griffith. ‘Calling All Dawns’ is a two-time Grammy winning album featuring 12 songs, each in a different language and organized into three movements – day, night and dawn – corresponding to life, death and rebirth.
Congratulations to students Ali Burdick, Angela Caggiano, Anna Freebern, Meiling Guo, Florrie Hynds, Amelia Kennedy, Jackie Nutter, Adam Quinn, Mikayla Schaffer, Lily Spencer, Gabby Vella, Cindy Wang, Emma Weinstein, Nate Williams and their choral director Julie Freebern, for receiving a personal invitation from Christopher Tin, marking BBA’s fourth
collaboration with the composer since 2012.
