BBA Students Win at National French Competition
Nine students from Burr and Burton Academy (BBA) in Manchester have won medals in Le Grand Concours, according to Lisa Narug, national director of the national competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. More than 75,000 students in all 50 states competed in the 2018 event. The students were evaluated for their written and listening comprehension skills in the French language.
BBA students Olivia Brand, Lulu Crosier, Madelyn Goebel, Tyler Jager and Adrianne Reig earned Bronze Medals at Level 2; Noah Price, Maria Rohrmoser and Alejandro Shapiro-Mochon earned Silver Medals at Level 2; and Shepard Siegel earned a Gold Medal at the highest level (Level 5) nationally. Additionally, ten BBA students earned national Honorable Mentions at various levels; they were Laura Emery, Bryn Adams, Jack Fiocco, Val Giesey, Zoe Grigsby, Ashley Heaton, Aisha Navarrete, Esther Mackenzie, Itembe Matiku and Angelina Scarlotta. All are students of BBA French teacher Michelle Emery.
