Bennington Cafe Holds Raffle to Help Homeless

Wendy Crawford Callaert, of OMA’s Cafe in Bennington, held a raffle in December to benefit the Bennington County Coalition for the Homeless.  A handmade bird house by artist Gary Briggs was raffled and won by customer Jennifer Paine.  Over $143 was raised through  raffle ticket sales and tips donated by cafe staff.

Bennington County Coalition for the Homeless operates an emergency overnight shelter, the Good Shepherd Shelter at 250 North Street, short-term emergency housing and long-term transitional apartments. The Shelter also serves as a Drop In Service Center, providing a  warm place to get a meal, shower, meet with a case manager and connect to services.  Your donations of food, gently used clothing, paper products, cleaning supplies and money help; they may be dropped off  or mailed to BCCH P.O. Box 4736 Bennington, Vt., 05201.  For information, call 802-442-2424 or email [email protected]
