Bennington Cinemas to Host Free Holiday Family Films
There will be a free film showing at Bennington Cinemas for children and their families on Saturday, December 19. ‘Frozen,’ rated PG, is an animated tale about two sisters, Anna and Elsa, and their epic journey to save their kingdom. ‘The Christmas Candle’ is a timeless holiday film for the entire family. Legend has it every 25 years an angel visits the village candle maker and touches a single candle; whoever lights this candle will receive a miracle. Both films are rated PG, and will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Choose which film to see; the free tickets must be obtained in advance from the following local merchants, who are co-sponsoring the event with Bennington Cinemas: WBTN 1370 AM, Bank of Bennington, Carbone Auto Plaza (all locations), Brown Computer Solutions, The Pharmacy, Bakkerij Krijnan and Big Boys Toys. A total of 500 tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Santa will be on hand when the doors open at 9 a.m. – bring your cameras. Parents are welcome to attend the films with their children, or may drop them off and pick them up afterwards. Everyone who attends is asked to bring a non-perishable food item for collection by the Kitchen Cupboard in Bennington for the distribution to needy families in the area. Those who do not plan to attend a movie, but wish to donate food items, may do so anytime between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on that day. Bennington Cinemas is located at 125 Phyllis Lane in Bennington.
