Bennington County Habitat for Humanity Seeks Volunteers

Bennington County Habitat for Humanity reports that they now have families for the two houses under construction in the North Branch Street neighborhood of Bennington. As announced in its April Newsletter, they are partnering with a woman and her two grandchildren to finish construction of their house at 23 Corcoran’s Way. Volunteers are needed to help install trim, baseboard, interior doors, kitchen cabinets and countertop, flooring and finish work. A family of three is very excited to be moving into their new home at 31 Corcoran’s Way as they eagerly await the arrival of their new baby. Habitat needs your help to complete both houses by the end of June to honor their commitments under the Orton Matching Grant Award. Volunters are also need to perform several home repair projects. Rosemarie Jackowski of Bennington needs her house stained; Gary DuFour of Dorset needs rot-repair work done on his house; and there is a potential ramp project for a gentleman in Bennington. These also need to be completed by the end of next month. Habitat provides all the tools and equipment to get these projects done. Truly, there are few things more rewarding at the end of a good day of hard work than seeing what your hands and hearts have created! To sign up, call 802-367-1000 or email [email protected]
