Veterans gathered at the Mount Anthony Country Club recently for a dinner in their honor hosted by the Lions Club.

The Bennington Lions held their annual ‘Honor Veterans Dinner’ on November 8 at the Mount Anthony Country Club in Bennington. Members invited relatives and friends who are Veterans to dinner. Kenneth Coonradt, Chaplain of the Vermont Veterans Home, gave the invocation and prayer and Joseph Anton, a WWII veteran, read a piece titled ‘Remembrance.’ The guest speaker was retired Colonel Allan Faxon, the Deputy Administrator and Chief Operations Officer of the Vermont Veterans Home, who discussed the history of the home and its value to the people it serves and the Bennington area. Music was provided by the Aladdins, whose accordion player, Tommy Leonesio, is  a WWII veteran.
