Berkshire ARC Awards Scholarships
On Wednesday, June 26, Berkshire County Arc presented scholarship awards to the following six high school seniors who demonstrated outstanding prior involvement with individuals with disabilities, as well as the potential to contribute to the field of human services: Victoria Aldam, Mt. Everett High School; Amanda Ruberto, Pittsfield High School; Seamus Ryan, Lenox Memorial High School; Gabrielle Schnopp, St. Joseph’s High School; Rebecca Schnopp, Pittsfield High School; and Emily Tarjick, Hoosac Valley High School.
Emily Tarjick’s scholarship was the third annual Carol Craighead Memorial Scholarship Award, awarded in memory of Carol Craighead, a Berkshire County Arc Board member, volunteer and supporter for more than 40 years.
An independent panel of community members consisting of Daniel Dillon, relationship development officer of Greylock Federal Credit Union and Shirley Edgerton, of the Department of Developmental Services, and June Hailer, advocate for United Cerebral Palsy of Berkshire County selected the winners. Funds for the scholarships were raised through Berkshire County Arc’s Annual Golf Classic.
