Pedal on over to Willow Park next weekend as Vermont’s only BMX race track will host one of this year’s USA BMX Northeast Gold Cup races. After sending in an application to host the event, Catamount BMX was selected by USA BMX to hold a Gold Cup qualifier on Saturday, July 9. “It’s an honor to be selected to host a Gold Cup qualifier,” said Catamount BMX track operator Jillianne Davis. “This event will help show the people of Bennington more about what BMX racing is all about and why it’s fun to do.” Riders from all over the northeast region are expected to compete in the event. In addition to hosting the Gold Cup qualifier, Catamount BMX will also hold two more races over the same weekend. The Bob Warnicke Memorial Scholarship race will be held on Friday, July 8, and the Vermont State Qualifier race will be held on Sunday, July 10. For more information, call 802-733-6732 or visit catamountbmx.org. Catamount BMX is the first and only bicycle motocross track in Vermont. They hold races and practices all summer long, May through September.
