Botter Named Nursing Chair at SVC
Southern Vermont College welcomes Dr. Mary Botter as its new chair of nursing. Botter was Executive Director, Vermont Board of Nursing, in the Office of the Secretary of State in Montpelier, 2007 to 2011.Prior to that, she served on the faculty and as an Associate Dean at the School of Nursing at the University of Vermont. Most recently, she was the Associate Dean of the College of Nursing and Associate Professor of Nursing at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and from 2002-2005, a consultant and coach for senior health care executives at Global Health Solutions.
The baccalaureate in nursing program has provisional approval from the Vermont Board of Nursing allowing graduates to complete the National Council Licensure Examination for a nursing license. National accreditation is anticipated to be effective later this year. Botter has developed and taught in a number of nursing degree education, and is a distinguished author and presenter. She has many publications in various trade and clinical publications and has presented more than 40 times at various conferences and groups, nationally and internationally.
