The Bennington community came out in strong support of United Couseling Service’s youth mentoring program, Big Brothers Big Sisters, at their 27th annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake Bowl-a-thon on Saturday, April 5. The event brought in over $40,000 for the mentoring program of United Counseling Service.

“On behalf of the kids, we want to thank everyone who came out in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters and once again made this Bowl-a-thon a resounding success. We also want to give special thanks to all our sponsors, and in particular The Bank of Bennington, for helping us make a difference and supporting youth mentoring in our community,” said UCS executive director, Ralph Provenza.

Nearly 500 bowlers participated in the event and hundreds more participated in the festivities. Funds raised go directly to the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, which helps children who need and want a mentor. Children develop self-confidence and assurance, adult mentors develop and grow, and everyone has fun. For more information, call 802-442-5491.
