Bright Future in Store for Historic Rupert Property

The Rupert Village Trust announces that it has purchased the Sheldon General Store property in Rupert from Jesse and Zoe Loomis of Peru. The Trust formed a nonprofit organization in order to restore this historically significant property and open it to the community as a cultural center and café. This first major step could not have been accomplished without the support of Preservation Trust of Vermont, the New York Community Trust, and many generous supporters from Rupert and the surrounding areas. An open house is planned for June 15, when the public will be able to see the exquisite interior of this former general store learn about its future.
