Cambridge Community Dinner
The next free Community Dinner will be served on Saturday, October 26, from noon to 1, at First Baptist Church, Cambridge, N.Y. The doors will open no earlier than 11:30.
This month’s meal is sponsored by Cambridge Village Market, who will generously provide the turkeys and all the fixings for a turkey dinner. The church, located at 29 West Main Street, between Cambridge Valley Market and Glens Falls Bank, has a handicap accessible ramp and a handicap bathroom.
This is the seventh year the dinners have been served. The monthly meals are organized by First Baptist Church of Cambridge, with the assistance of eight community churches and organizations. If your organization or group would like to sponsor a meal, or if you would like to help out at a meal, please call the number below. The meals have been a blessing to no fewer than 60 up to 200 people per meal.
Reservations are not necessary. Take-outs will be available at 1, only for those unable to attend, provided everyone has been fed. There will be no second meal take-outs. Call Bev at 518-677-3327 or the church at 518-677-5487 for information. This is the final dinner for this year; there will be other community dinners during November and December. The next dinner will be on January 25, 2014.
Much appreciation goes to the following organizations who have so generously donated their time, food and talents throughout the year to provide these meals: Country Clovers 4H Club, New Skete Parish, Cambridge U.P. Church, CCS Faculty Association, Coila Church, Boy Scout Troop 62, First Baptist Church, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and Cambridge Village Market.
