Cambridge to Host Fly-in and Aviation
Cambridge Valley Flying Club (CVFC) is hosting a Fly-in/Aviation Day on Saturday, October 18, at Chapin Field in Cambridge, N.Y., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Last year’s event was a rousing success. There were over 40 visiting aircraft, including antique planes, war birds and ultra-lights. The field was crowded all day with families, kids, pilots and planes. Some people even brought their antique cars to show off. There will be food available in the large club hangar, and – new this year – music by the band Switch Point, featuring pilot Dave McClements.
CVFC members will be on hand to greet everyone and answer questions about flying, airplanes and membership. Admission is free.
Proceeds from food sales and donations will go to the CVFC Chapin Memorial Scholarship Fund, which awards a deserving Cambridge Central School graduating senior. For more information, visit cambridgevalleyflyingclub.org. The rain date is the following day, Sunday, October 19. Chapin Memorial Field (1B8), is located at 177 Plaines Road, one mile north of Cambridge, N.Y. just off Route 22.
