Cambridge Valley Flying Club to Sponsor a Fly-in & Aviation Day
On Saturday, October 19, from 9 to 4, the Cambridge Valley Flying Club will sponsor a Fly-in and Aviation Day at Chapin Field, one mile north of Cambridge, N.Y., on Route 22, in the picturesque and historical Cambridge Valley.
Airplanes from all over the east will begin flying into Chapin Field, starting in the morning and continuing to arrive and depart throughout the day. In the past, many types of aircraft have participated in the Fly-in, including bi-planes, antique war birds, experimental aircraft, ultra-lights, helicopters, model airplanes and all manner of aircraft from the ordinary to the exotic.
Food will be for sale inside the club’s large hanger, so you can eat and talk aviation (better known as “hanger flying”) with other pilots and aviation enthusiasts. Club members will be on hand to give tours of the field and its aircraft, and to answer questions about flying and Club membership.
Admission is free. Food sales and donations benefit the George Chapin Memorial Scholarship Fund. For information, call 518-727-6509 or email [email protected]
