Cancer Center Community Crusaders Day of Celebration
The Cancer Center Community Crusaders sixth annual Day of Celebration and National Cancer Survivors Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. There will be the famous Cupcake Challenge, vendors, music and entertainment, a basket raffle and fun activities for all ages. The Celebration begins with the lighting of the cauldron at 9:45 a.m. A ceremony of remembrance at 3 p.m. will conclude the day. The Crusaders provide financial, physical and emotional support to patients and their families as they receive cancer treatment. They have raised more than $250,000 since its founding in 2014 within the communities of Bennington and Windham counties in Vermont and nearby New York and Massachusetts. Patients need not receive treatment at Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center to be eligible for funds. Cancer survivors are the guests of honor for this special event. Those who received treatment at SVRCC are invited to enjoy VIP parking and a free survivor T-shirt and lunch.
