Canfield Gallery to Exhibit Watercolors by Judith Kniffin
From Thursday, April 3 through Tuesday, April 29, the Gallery at the Martha Canfield Library will feature a solo exhibit of North Bennington artist Judith Kniffin’s most recent watercolor landscapes. This body of work focuses largely on patterns and spatial ambiguities arising from figure-ground and color relationships. There is an overall sense of nature’s multiplicity — bodies of water, plants, trees, clouds — jostling with each other’s spatial needs. These landscapes exude energy. Kniffin’s work has been exhibited widely in southwestern Vermont. Kniffin is a member of the NAACO Gallery in North Adams, Mass.
The public is invited to a free public reception on Saturday, April 12, from 3 to 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served. A portion of all art sales benefits the Martha Canfield Library. The Canfield Gallery is located at 528 East Arlington Road in Arlington, Vt. For more information, call the library at 802-375-6153 or visit marthacanfieldlibrary.org.
