Join the Poultney Public Library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, to meet some amazing canine heroes – therapy dogs! Find out how these dogs are trained, and discover what their job is and what traits they need  to become good service dogs. This program is free and open to all ages. For more information, call the library at 802-287-5556. And don’t forget to mark your calendar for the Art and Rare Book Silent Auction and Dessert Sale to benefit the Library’s building project on Friday, August 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. The Auction will feature a wide array of prints, original works of art and signed and antiquarian books. There will be a watercolor demonstration by local artist Peter Huntoon and live music performed by the Poultney Bluegrass Society. For information, call 802-287-5556.
