Cash for Candy: Support a Soldier
This Halloween, trick-or-treaters can bring their extra candy to area dentist, Dr. Jon Gotterer, at 523 South Street, Pittsfield, Mass., to be shipped to troops overseas via Operation Gratitude.
“Donate the candy and give our men and women in uniform overseas a taste of home.” says Dr. Gotterer. “The candy buy-back program (Friday, November 1, 4 to 6, and Saturday, November 2, 9 to 12) will help parents limit the damage done to their children’s teeth. We want to encourage preventative care, which includes decreasing sugar consumption.” Each child can receive $1 per pound, up to a 5 pound maximum, for all unopened, uneaten candy. One Kindle Fire will be given away. For more information contact 413-447-7923, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit berkshiredentist.com.
