Celebrating Classic Children’s Literature with Dance

Celebrating Classic Children's LitIn conjunction with the ‘If Books Could Dance’ concert at Hubbard Hall in Cambridge, N.Y. on Saturday, September 21, 7 p.m., the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company (ESDC) will participate in several outreach activities during the summer.

The September 21 family evening of modern dance and the outreach events surrounding it center around the visual and narrative delights of children’s book authors and illustrators Maurice Sendak’s ‘Where the Wild Things Are,’ Thomas Locker’s Water Dance,’ and Hudson Talbott’s ‘River of Dreams.’ Join ESDC and percussionist Brian Melick as they dive into a world of fantasy and imagination. This delightful mixing of modern dance and music is guaranteed to touch the hearts and minds of young and old alike. Visit hubbardhall.org for more information.

Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company  shares its work with diverse audiences through concerts, showcases, residencies, workshops and educational outreach. Brian Melick, musician, educator, author and designer, has been professionally involved in music since the early age of 13, and is a featured recording artist.
