Fish chowder, clam chowder, corn chowder, potato chowder, ham chowder, veggie chowder, seafood chowder. Appetizer chowders, main-dish chowders, dessert chowders. Savory and sweet chowders. Delicious, filling, heartwarming, hearty, comforting chowders…everyone loves chowder, and Hoosick Falls wants to taste yours!

Enter your best effort in the HAYC3’s Chowder Cook-off Contest, 11 to 2, at Pumpkinpalooza 5 on Saturday, September 21, at the Town Athletic Fields. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded for crowd favorites.

The contest is open to all chefs, professional and amateur, and welcomes entries from near and far. Just bring a crockpot or slow cooker and four quarts of your yummiest chowder, a table,
signage and serving utensils. We’ll provide tasting cups, electricity and, of course, the tasters.

Chowder chefs, get out your recipes, line up your tools and ingredients, turn on your stove and get cooking — find out if your chowder is really the best. And if you’re not a chowder chef yourself, but you know someone who makes great chowder, encourage her or him to enter this mouthwatering event.
Be creative or stick to the classics. Enter any kind of chowder, from traditional to “not your mother’s” chowders.
