Missionary Alliance, Bennington

Missionary Alliance Church, located at 198 Crescent Boulevard in Bennington, Vt. will celebrate Christmas Eve with a candlelight service on Tuesday, December 24, at 7 p.m. A Christmas message and Christmas carols will emphasize the true meaning of Christmas: the birth of Jesus Christ. First Baptist Church, Bennington

The First Baptist Church of Bennington, Vt. will hold its Christmas Eve service on Wednesday, December 24, at 7 p.m. The service will feature familiar Christmas carols and scripture readings accompanying the lighting of the Advent candles and preparation to light the Christ candle at the service’s culmination. Rev. Thomas Hiltsley will preside over the service. Accompanying the service music will be Mo Rancourt, guest trumpeter and Charles Olegar, the church’s organist and director of music. First Congregational, Williamstown

Worship is at 10 am in the Sanctuary. The third Sunday in Advent service is Lessons and Carols on the Four Gospels, a multi-generational pageant led by four teams, each presenting the beginning of each of the four Gospels.  Come and hear the Christmas Story in a whole new light. This is a perfect service for young children. All are warmly welcomed. First Baptist, Hoosick Falls

The public is invited to the First Baptist Church at 80 Main Street, Hoosick Falls N.Y., on Tuesday Dec 24, at 8 p.m. for a traditional Christmas Eve service including carols and special music focused on the birth of Christ. Nursery care will be available.

 

‘Messiah’ Sing-along 

All are invited to join in the 10th annual Messiah Sing-Along on Sunday, December 29, at 3 p.m., at Saint James Episcopal Church in Arlington, Vt., under the direction of Scott Smedinghoff. Singers of all levels and abilities are invited to participate in the informal sing-along, which will include the Advent and Christmas section of Handel’s choral masterpiece, as well as the ‘Hallelujah Chorus.’ There will be several soloists including Robyn Madison, soprano; Katie Beck, alto, Fr. Scott Neal, tenor and Mark Madison, bass. Charles Olegar will accompany on organ with a chamber orchestra of local musicians. Bring your voice, enthusiasm and holiday spirit as we usher in the New Year. A limited number of copies of the score will be available; those who have their own copy are encouraged to bring it. West Hoosick Baptist Church

The West Hoosick Baptist Church is holding their Christmas Eve Pageant and Candle Light Service at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 24, to celebrate the birth of Christ. This old fashioned family service will feature our little angels and choir singing, Christmas Carols and a special presentation:  ‘Emmanuel: God with Us,’ recounting the story of the birth of Christ. We will end with the Candle Light Service.

 

Old First Church, Bennington

On Tuesday, December 24, the First Congregational Church of Old Bennington will offer a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. This family service features familiar carols and readings and special music. The church ends the service by gathering in front of the church with candles, to sing “Silent Night.” A wheelchair ramp will be provided. The public is warmly invited. Saint Peter’s, Bennington

Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church will be holding a Christmas Eve Pageant and Holy Eucharist, beginning at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24. There will also be an 11 p.m. Holy Eucharist later that evening. Sandgate Methodist 

Sandgate United Methodist Church will be holding its Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, led by Pastor Keith Mann, at 7 p.m. on December 24. All are invited to attend. The Church is located on Sandgate Road in Arlington, Vt. For more information, call 802-375-9289.

 

Redeemer Lutheran Church of Shaftsbury

Redeemer Lutheran Church of Shaftsbury will hold its Candlelight Service in celebration of the birth of our Savior on Christmas Eve at 7 p.m. All are invited. The Church is located on Route 67 in Shaftsbury, Vt. For details, call 802-442-8423.
