Dorset Farmers’ Market
On Sunday, August 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Dorset Farmers’ Market will be celebrating Open Farm Week with a scavenger hunt for kids offering little prizes. Young market friends will have the opportunity to learn a bit about how farmers work and live, and familiarize themselves with how organic fruits and veggies are grown. There will also be a short Kids’ Open Mic hosted by August Stauffer, a young musician and busker from New York City. For details check out the website at dorsetfarmersmarket.com. The Arlington Fire Department’s Ladies’ Auxiliary will host Bingo at the East Arlington Fire Station on Wednesday, August 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. There will also be snacks and a 50/50 raffle.
Ormsby DAR to Meet
The Ormsby Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will be holding our monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 25 at Daughter Judy Harwood’s home, 211 Lathrop Lane, Manchester Center. The Dorset Seniors will meet for luncheon at the Wilson House in East Dorset at 12 noon on Thursday, August 25. There will be door prizes. Reservations are required. Call Dotty Streeter at 802-867-4442 by August 22. The suggested donation is $3.50. All seniors are welcome.
MCL Summer Reading Raffle
Kids are invited to come to Manchester Community Library to turn in their Reading Logs from 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 20. Receive a free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream cup and raffle ticket.
