‘Cooking for Karlie’ Receives Overwhelming Support

The Girls on the Run program of the Mettawee Community School announces that roughly $10,000 was raised for Karlie Gates and her family during the fundraising dinner ‘Cooking for Karlie’ on April 26 due to the community’s overwhelming support. An estimated 450 people attended to enjoy the dinner, silent auction and raffle. Raffle winners were Michael Krauss, who won an overnight stay at Whiteface Mountain Resort; Dawn Childs who won the Telescope Casual Patio Set; and Louise Mychack who won the Whiteface Spa Basket. The event served as MCS’ GOTR/Heart and Sole community impact project for the 2019 season. Organizing coaches Kelli Lewis, Mandy Mayer, Sarah Warren, Linda Maness and Finley Mayer wish to thank all the attendees, donors and volunteers for their amazing community spirit. Karlie is continuing her treatment plan for Hodgkins Lymphoma, and regaining her strength.
