‘Create and Sip’ Sundays at MCL
The Manchester Community Library is pleased to offer ‘Abstract Fall Trees,’ the second of the ‘Create and Sip’ Sunday Series, on Sunday, November 15, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Commons at the new Library. Stacy Gates of Create with Bogate is teaching the monthly painting classes and will instruct participants step-by-step in creating an original work of art. Proceeds of these classes will be donated to the Library and used to expand its art programming. The third class, ‘Partridge in a Pear Tree,’ will be held on Sunday, December 13; on January 10, recreate Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic painting, ‘Red Poppies,’ and learn about the artist from guest presenter Carol Berry, an artist, art educator and scholar on all things Van Gogh.
No prior painting experience is required. The goal is to create a relaxed atmosphere for people to have fun being creative. These classes, for ages 16 and older, provide a bit of history or knowledge about the subject being painted or an art concept being used. All painting supplies and an apron will be provided by the instructor and the Library’s café will have bakery treats and non-alcoholic beverages available. The cost of each class is $35. For information, call Stacy Gates at 802-362-5608. To register for the class, call the Library at 802-362-2607.
