The Woodstock Curling Club is offering two ‘Learn to Curl’  clinics this season. Curling is one of the faster growing sports in the US, and now is your chance to see what it is all about. There are many local people in the Upper Valley who curl regularly and they want to show you how much fun it is to play the game. Curling Clinics will be held on Sundays, January 17 and 31. Each will start at 7 p.m. at the Union Arena in Woodstock, and will take about two hours. Registration is at 6:45 p.m. The clinic costs $20 per person and is open to any individual age 12 and older. The club provides all equipment needed; you just have to wear warm clothing and shoes with non-skid soles. Participants will start with an off-ice introduction to the concepts and rules of the game and then move onto the ice for hands-on instruction. Space is limited at each session, so interested participants must register in  advance by going to uppervalleycurling.org and clicking on ‘Learn to Curl.’ Union Arena is located on the grounds of the Woodstock Union High School on Route 4. More information can be found at uppervalleycurling.org or by e-mailing uppervalleycurling@gmail.com.
