Students at Currier Memorial School in Danby raised funds for YANAF’s Caring Blankets, to be distributed to the homeless. The students and their teachers are shown here with Salley Gibney and Jay Veneable.

On Monday, January 11, Salley Gibney and Jay Venable of the You Are Never Alone Foundation met with Carolyn Parillo, principal, Carrie Mauho-Pugh and her sixth grade students, and Michael Luzader and his fifth grade students at Currier Memorial School to thank them for their generous donation of $50 toward woolen Caring Blankets to help people who are having trouble this winter. The students organized a tag and bake sale to raise this money for the homeless in our community. The students at Currier Memorial School were enthusiastic about having made a  difference for someone who is homeless, and are already thinking of additional ways to share the ‘I Matter, You Matter’ message. With students like these at Currier Memorial School. there is great hope for the future. For more information, go to yanaf.org.
