Dionondehowa Annual Birdwalk

Dionondehowa Annual Birdwalk

On Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, Dionondehowa will hold its annual Birdwalk on the Sanctuary. The walk celebrates International Migratory Bird Day, and is of moderate difficulty. Bird enthusiast Nat Parke will lead the group through a variety of habitats, including orchard, fields, wetland and streams. Participants will also learn about the Sanctuary’s long-grass nesting project for ground-nesting birds who have lost habitat in the midwest United States. A donation of $12 is suggested to support Dionondehowa programs. For more information and to reserve a place, call 518-854-7764 or email [email protected] Attention will be given to the presence of ticks and tick-checks will be offered at the conclusion of the walk, but participants are encouraged to dress tick-appropriately. Dionondehowa Wildlife Sanctuary and School is located at 148 Stanton Road near Shushan, N.Y. Visit
