Boy Scouts from Troop 332 and Cub Scouts from Pack 333 will be helping out with Green Up Day activities in their local communities this Saturday, May 7. All residents are encouraged to join them in this effort in their respective towns. Dorset residents should meet at the Town Office Building in East Dorset Village at 9 a.m., to receive road assignments and bags. Refreshments will be available and participants can enjoy a complimentary ice cream at the East Dorset General Store/Jiffy Mart, afterwards. Green-Up Day is a great opportunity for both parents and children to participate in a 46-year-old tradition which promotes anti-littering and conveys the message that we care about how our communities and surroundings look. It is also an excellent opportunity for the youth of our communities to be involved in an event that will help them to develop a strong sense of respect and a caring attitude for the environment. For details, call John Lareau at 802-362-5231/East Dorset or Kim Rizio at 802-867-5717 extension 147/Dorset.
