Exceptional Retiree Awards Host and Judges Announced
Equinox Village is proud to announce that local television personality Erynn Hazlett will host the Exceptional Retiree Awards Presentation Dinner. “Erynn is so dynamic and energetic. We are thrilled that she will lend her spirited personality to the evening,” said Equinox Village’s Executive Director Kirt Sampson. “She was a guest of our community’s World Events Discussion Group early this year, and we have been looking for a way to bring her back ever since.” Hazlett is a member of the National Guard, host of GNAT-TV’s ‘WHAM: What’s Happening Around Manchester’ program and a founding member of the Manchester Young Professionals.
Judges for the 2014 Exceptional Retiree Awards include Sandy Conrad, executive director of the Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging, Past ERA Honoree for Excellence in Continued Scholarship Harvey Flaxman, and Maggie Lewis, regional director of programs and services for Vermont’s Alzheimer’s Association. The Exceptional Retiree Awards honor Bennington and Windham County retirees who are using their retirement to expand relationships, learn new things and serve others. Through this program, Equinox Village and its community partners (including At Home Senior Care, Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning, and Green Mountain RSVP, A Tempo Senior Move and Cornerstone Fitness, and Prospect Rehabilitation) seek to promote vibrant older age and to generate excitement for what can be the richest time in one’s life. Nominations opened in February. Retired residents of Bennington and Windham Counties who are over the age of 55 are eligible. Categories include Excellence in the Arts, Continued Scholarship, Health and Wellness and Service and Community Leadership.
