EXPOsion! Bennington 2016 Planned for Wednesday
Almost every cultural institution from the Berkshires to central Vermont will be presenting their annual calendar of events at EXPOsion! Bennington 2016, taking place on Wednesday, April 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Mount Anthony Country Club in Bennington. Keynote speaker Stephen Perkins, executive director of the Vermont Historical Society, will address the crowd at 1 p.m. The public is invited; free passes are available at many downtown merchants. As former director of the Bennington Museum, Perkins brought the historic institution into the digital age, instituted modern museum practices, led the staff and board through strategic planning and rigorous accreditation processes, and engaged the community in innovative and exciting ways. He recently took over his role at the Vermont Historical Society after a term at the ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain in Burlington, where he served as director of development and communications. His experiences in the arts, historical and natural science-based organizations epitomizes the mission of EXPOsion! Bennington. For details, visit exposionbennington.org.
