Fall Bicycle Ride

Cambridge Valley Cycling’s Fall Bicycle Ride is back for 2013, and features a choice of three beautiful routes starting in southern Washington County, N.Y., on Sunday, September 22. The metric century will begin at 9:30 am and is the same scenic route as 2012 with 3500 feet of climbing. The 24-mile ride begins at 10:30 am and features 1665 feet of climbing. The 16-mile ride, departing at 11, is reasonably flat and a great choice for families. There will be a raffle the day of the event and great prizes are anticipated from CVC’s sponsors and supporters.

New this year, all rides will start from the American Legion Captain Maxson Post 634 located on State Route 22 one mile north of the traffic light in Cambridge, N.Y. The Legion Post is on the east/right side of state route 22 when coming from Cambridge. Individual registration is $30. All members of an immediate family may register for a flat fee of $40. Register at bikereg.com by searching for Cambridge Valley Cycling. The day of registration, fees will be $5 more in all categories. Maps and cue sheets will be available. There will be support vehicles on all rides. Lunch is included in the registration fee. There is a 200 rider limit for the event.

Proceeds from this year’s ride will benefit past CVC president Van Fronhofer to help with the enormous costs associated with his care and recovery after an October 2012 accident on his property resulted in a traumatic brain injury. Laurel, Van’s loving wife of 43 years, has spent every waking moment at his side and has been caring for him at their home since his release from the hospital and rehab center. Please help CVC support a great family in the local community.

All riders must sign a liability waiver and wear a CPSC approved bicycle helmet. Riders under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Riders are expected to obey all traffic rules. All registration fees are non-refundable. For more information, visit Cambridge Valley Cycling’s page on Facebook, go to bikecvc.org, or email [email protected]
