Field Hockey Clinics with Pros Open to Area Students
Burr and Burton Academy (BBA) will be hosting two field hockey clinics on Sunday, May 5 and 19, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. There is no charge to participate in the clinics, but a suggested donation of $20 for each would be greatly appreciated as a fundraiser for the BBA Field Hockey program. The clinics are open to athletes who are currently in grades seven through twelve from any area school.
The coaching staff is superb, making this an unbelievable opportunity for young athletes who want to learn the sport of field hockey or who want to improve their skills to play at a higher level.
Directing the clinic is Bill Davidson, a former member of the USA Men’s National Team who played in the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games as well as the 1987 Pan American Games. Davidson was on the US Field Hockey coaching staff at the US Training Center in Colorado for ten years, and has over 20 years of coaching at the Collegiate
D-I and D-II levels.
Goalies will be coached by Amy Wright, a 2007 Cornell Athletics Hall of Fame inductee. She was a three-time All-Ivy selection and a two-time All-American. Goalies must have their own equipment.
Lucrecia Cabut Johnson, an international player and coach from Argentina, and Barb Miceli, a former All-American and the head field hockey coach at BBA, will round out the coaching staff.
Contact Lynne Sanders at [email protected] or 802-362-2992 to get a required BBA waiver form, which needs to be signed by a parent for non-BBA students. The waiver form will be sent to you as soon as your spot is confirmed.
