Film Examines Children and War
Old Chatham Quaker Meeting will screen ‘A Child’s Century of War’ on Monday, October 6, at 7 p.m., at the Old Chatham Quaker Meetinghouse, 539 Route 13, Old Chatham, N.Y. ‘A Child’s Century of War’ takes the viewer on a journey through the past century – the bloodiest in history from the perspective of children. We hear their stories of three contemporary wars in their voices. Establishing parallels between past and present conflicts, the film alternates the accounts of children currently in danger, with diaries of children in the past. By looking at the way today’s wars indoctrinate children, it is also an eye to the future. The film is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served and a moderated discussion will follow.
