Film Examines Toxic Impact of 9/11
Events on 9/11 permanently altered the course of American life, history, politics and world events. Yet nearly 15 years later, its significance as the worst toxic man-made disaster to impact a densely populated American city is largely unknown. Lisa Katzman’s groundbreaking documentary, ‘9/11’s Unsettled Dust’ sheds light on how and why politicians, policy makers and regulatory agencies downplayed and denied the toxic impacts of 9/11, causing a massive public health tragedy, the consequences of which will be felt for years to come. Most importantly, it is the story of the epic battle waged by the 9/11 community for environmental and health justice. A preview screening of the film will be hosted by the Manchester Community Library on Thursday, September 8, at 6:30 p.m. The screening will be followed by a light repast. There is a suggested donation of $25. To attend the event, RSVP to Sandy Kraehling at firstname.lastname@example.org by September 3.
