Fine Art in the Heart of Dorset
Three Pears Gallery is sending a Valentine to its home town of Dorset, featuring selected Dorset artists and others who have been inspired to depict landmarks of this quintessentially Vermont village. The work of venerable landscape painter Arthur Jones, a much-loved lifelong Dorset native, is represented in a large estate piece from 1982. Artist Jim Rodgers couldn’t resist the allure of popular Prentiss Pond and seduction of the Dorset Inn. Local painter Oscar Trugler’s imagination is sparked by living here, and Carol Fortunato was drawn to paint the gallery’s neighbor, the Dorset Union Store, as well as other area scenes. “We’re celebrating all there is to love about Dorset!” says gallery owner Greg DeLuca. Everyone is invited to the opening reception on Saturday, February 13, from 1 to 5 p.m., for prosecco and pomegranate punch and Valentine cookies. Three Pears Gallery is located on the Dorset Green at 41 Church Street. Call 802-770-8820 to learn more.
