Fisher Elementary School is hosting a Book Drive for students during the month of May. Fisher Reading Teacher Donna Bazyk and the Fisher Friends of Literacy project are organizing the drive. “Summer is a great time to relax with a book, and we want Fisher students to have enough books in their home to make that possible. We are asking everyone to clean out their book shelves to help us out.” All books appropriate for reading levels of pre-kindergarten to grade six are welcome. Book donations can be left at the School’s main office during school hours, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bazyk and reading teacher Katie Sisco will also host a Summer Reading Info Night on Tuesday, May 24, at 6:30 p.m. for parents to learn more about how they can increase their child’s reading time this summer with a variety of activities. Childcare and pizza will be available. For more information, email Bazyk at bazykd@bvsu.org or call 802-375-6409.
