Fisher Students Go Apple Picking
What better way to learn about something than to go to the source? Fisher Elementary students in Ann Davis’ Pre-Kindergarten class have been learning a lot about apples. They’ve read stories about apples, they’ve been counting with apples and they’ve even compared the taste of different apples during snack time. The students then took all of their new classroom knowledge into the field, literally, as they enjoyed a fun day of picking apples at Mad Tom Orchard in East Dorset, Vt. Back at school, the students made applesauce and apple burritos, and then counted up all of the apple seeds from the apples they used.
